Scripture: Matthew 2: 1-14

Theme: “Oh Come Let Us Adore Him”

The Greatest Gift of All!

The people of God have the greatest future of any people in the world.  The hope of this world lies in the things, which can and will be destroyed.  We, however, are in the family of the heavenly King.

What a majestic God! Jesus is the great “I AM. ” He is the only One who can say, Before Abraham was, I am”.   He alone is the expressed image of the invisible God, the eternal Spirit.  Moreover, He alone could shed His sinless blood and redeem mankind from the curse of sin.

Mankind tried to cover his disobedience that caused his fall into sin, but man’s efforts could never be adequate to atone for his own sin.  Sin required death, a sinless blood sacrifice, but man’s blood was tainted by sin.  It seemed that man was hopelessly lost, but God provided the eternal solution to sin - once and for all.

Through the Incarnation, God came to His own creation in the form of flesh and blood that He might pay the terrible price of man’s sin.  On the cross, Jesus Christ purchased the gift of salvation for all that would receive His atoning sacrifice for sin.  Now, the sinless blood of Jesus Christ redeems us - God manifested in flesh.

“To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the
world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses
unto them...For he hath made him to be sin for us,
who knew no sin; that we might be made the
righteousness of God in him”

II Corinthians 5:19,21

This is the greatest Christmas gift of all times-the gift of his Son!  For this reason we sing, “Oh come let us adore Him, Christ, the LORD!”
