“The Blessings of Motherhood”
A Tribute To Mothers
“Honor thy father and thy mother” i
s the first commandment with promise. The
Word of God exalts us to give honor to whom honor is due. Therefore, the
Family Night Planning Committee takes this opportunity to convey our
appreciation and devotion to those who are dear to our hearts, our mothers, and
to praise God for the gift of motherhood.
Why Do We Honor Mothers?
We Honor Our Mothers Because:
We Owe Them Our Lives, They Were Our First Teachers, They Are
Homemakers, and They Are Loyal to Their Children.
The highest honor of womanhood is motherhood. However, this great honor does
not come without personal risk and self-sacrifice. Therefore, we honor mothers
for their willingness to sacrifice themselves in order to give life. The first
few years of our lives are the most important in our emotional and physical
development. We are indebted to our mothers for the nurturing years when the
foundation of one’s character is laid.
The mother is the heartbeat in the home. She is the pulse that converts a “
house into a home”.
When others condemn us, our mothers find a way to encourage us; when others
abandon us, our mothers stay close to us; when others seek to destroy us, our
mothers work frantically to save us!
