sharing your own experiences? Even a testimony
that you may consider non-dramatic can be the turning point for another person,
that last encounter before someone accepts salvation for eternity.
Thank the Lord he is back home!
Praise the Lord!!! My name is Bro. Michael Finkley. I am no stranger to
Progressive Church. My grandfather, Bishop E. Finkley, and my grandmother,
Mother V. Finkley, installed this doctrine in me years ago and it is still
burning. I am currently a student at Allen University in Columbia. The devil
is on every hand right now but we know that he is a lier and God's Word is
true. I thank the Lord up above that He led me here because this is the
place were I meet Sis. Shelia Albergottie and Bro. Ernest Albergottie from
the Progressive Church in Hopkins. I began to go with them one Sunday and
that led to going to Bible Study. On Sunday, September 23, 2007, I joined
Progressive Church in Hopkins. I thank the Lord for that because I am back
where my grandparents started their spiritual journey and just can not thank
the Lord enough. I know both of my grandparents are looking saying, " Thank
the Lord he is back home!!" Pray for my strength in the Lord that I stay the
course and defeat everything that is not holy.
Bro. Michael Finkley
Goodness and Power of the "All Mighty"
I want to greet everyone in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
I just want to briefly share with whomever that reads this the goodness and
power of the "All Mighty". Of course if you have experienced God for
yourself I do not need to tell you how great he is, but I do want to share
an experience I had recently to keep all encouraged.
One night I put a piece of candy in my mouth. After a long day I just put
my head down just to relax. I had no intention of going to sleep, in fact I
hadn't even prepared to go to bed, I was just relaxing. I guess I was more
tired than I thought because I went to sleep so fast that I do not even
remember. Remember that piece of candy I put in my mouth that I mentioned
earlier? Well, after a couple of hours I woke up and that candy was stuck in
my throat. I tried to remain calm, but it was difficult not to panic because
I was by myself and I did not have anyone there to help me. Basically, I was
choking and could not breath. I was alone physically, but Jesus (HALLELUJAH)
was there. He wrapped his arms around me and performed the Heimlich Maneuver
on me. Instantly, that candy came flying out of my mouth. I just want to
thank God for being a keeper! Even when we do not even realize what we are
doing sometimes The Lord (Jehovah) watches over us. The scripture
teaches..."we are His."
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I pray that it will keep you
encouraged and trusting in God. Let us continue to pray for one another,
that we will be the people God, as He would have us be.

turn, suffering with every breath and step I took.
He is so amazing Saints. I am so grateful, at times, that
it is very hard to thank Him because I know in my heart it will never be
enough. Saints God delivered me from that torment and pain. My
spirit is alive today and I feel Jesus in my soul!! Hallehjah thank YOU
JESUS!I I heard a fellow, singing in church about being BETTER THAN
BLESSED. I didn't know at that time what it meant. Through Gods Mercy ,
goodness and grace I now know and feel "Better Than Blessed"
God has lifted me up restored my soul. I'll tell you
saints , His Love is so great and powerful. His Love was keeping me even in
my spiritual death, not allowing satan to destroy me fully. That was his
mission. God's love didn't let satan harm me. Thank you Jesus, Hallelujah!!!.
Saints, the Lord, my God did "Save A Wretch Like Me"
Why? I don't know . I thank Him, Love Him and will PRAISE HIM with my whole
heart , body and soul. P.S. The devil is a liar Saints!!
Continue Praying for my strength in Our Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ. Thank You,
Brother Bruce Mariah Beauford

The Prayer Seminar/Clinic was truly a blessed experience. I had never been
to a clinic before and this exceeded my expectations. All of the speakers
provided very beneficial information and the booklet was an added blessing.
I know that if I take the information given and apply to my prayer life it
will enhance it greatly.
I am also thankful for the prayer we shared in the sanctuary. I have already
began to see the power of God working in my life as a result of this. I
prayed for several things and people, but I thank God in a special way for
showing me He heard my prayer. I have been inviting my mother to church for
a while and she said that she would come, but had not. On the night of the
Prayer Clinic, she volunteered and told me that she would go to church with
me on the following Sunday. She did not get saved that Sunday, but I know
that this is only the start of what is to come. God is going to bless. I
also received good news on the Friday following the clinic regarding a
credit card that I have been trying to pay off for the longest. God is
working things out in my behalf here as well. God is good and I know that
more answered prayers are definitely on their way. Thank you for allowing me
to be a part of such a wonderful event.

Greetings in the Precious Name of Our Lord Jesus Christ!
I am pleased to write this letter to the Saints of the Progressive Church of
Florence under the leadership of Elder Jimmie C. Deas to let you know how
blessed I am after attending the Prayer Seminar/Clinic on Saturday, Apri15,
2006. I give all the Glory to Jesus Christ Our Lord, because these Saints
really allowed God to use them to present a wonderful seminar. This was a
much-needed seminar and the Saints put aside themselves and allowed God to
use them to deliver a powerful seminar on prayer. I was truly blessed.
The lessons, “The Complete Prayer Clock”’ Part I, taught by Sister Betty
Montgomery, “The Complete Prayer Clock”, Part II, taught by Sister Marie
Mack, “Hindrances to Prayer” taught by Sister Cynthia Deas, “Prayer
Problems: Reasons for Difficulties” taught by Sister Geraldine Scott were
dynamic lessons. These women allowed God to use them to bless me and I am
very grateful. The Spirit of God was present and the lessons were given with
so much understanding. I thank God I was able to attend because I have
difficulties and hindrances in prayer but after the seminar, I am more aware
of what my problems or hindrances are and by the help of God, I am learning
to deal with it. I don’t want any hindrances when it comes to my prayer
life. When I pray, I want God to hear my prayers and I want to hear from
God. I realize that prayer, praise God, is an important part of my spiritual
walk and there are ways that my prayer life can be improved. That’s what
this seminar was all about. I learned some of my weaker points in prayer and
ways to improve it, praise God. It is God’s desire that we pray continually
and this seminar helped me in my weaker areas.
God bless Sister Mary Deas, who prepared a delicious breakfast and lunch to
feed the saints of God during the Seminar.
It was truly a blessing to see the young people working in the up building
of God’s Kingdom. My God Bless all of them.
Praise God for Sister Gardenia Hamilton; God used her mightily in
coordinating this Prayer Seminar/Clinic.
My victory is in Jesus Christ and every thing I prayed for on Saturday is
already done, in the Name of Jesus. May God Continue to Bless Elder
Deas and the Saints of Florence.
I give ALL the Praises and Glory to God for a wonderful seminar.

Prayer Seminar Praise
Praise the Lord,
Greeting in the name of Jesus Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I would like
to thank Elder Deas, for the warm welcome extended to us on Saturday, April
15, 2006. I like to thank the coordinator Sister Gardenia Hamilton for
planning a wonderful Prayer Seminar/Clinic. We thank the Lord for the
speakers, the lessons they taught and d for the sisters who prepared the
meals. My heart was truly blessed and I have a deeper desire to pray and an
expectancy to get results in what I pray for. May God bless and keep you
until we come together again in the unity of love.
Sincerely in Christ,

Prayer Seminar Praise
From beginning to end, the Prayer Clinic was a blessing to my soul. The
teaching went beyond the surface and into the deep. I discovered it is
easier to pray for an extended period of time when you have a list of areas
set before you to pray about such as; the unsaved, the backsliders,
ministers, children, spouse etc. I learned when you have scriptures to read
as you are praying makes praying easier and more meaningful. I thoroughly
enjoyed the teaching and the testimonies that reminded of the victories that
can be and are won through prayer. This clinic truly has empowered me to
redeem the time lost in my prayer life and helped me realize that if there
is no prayer there is no power; the body of Christ lack both in these time.
I would definitely recommend this clinic to be held throughout the
Progressive Church body for both men and women alike. I praised the Lord for
the experience.

Prayer Seminar Praise
Praise the Lord,
I thank the Lord for the wonderful prayer worship on April 15, 2006. This
was the first prayer seminar I have ever attended and I truly enjoyed it.
The different sessions were truly fruitful to my soul. I learned how I need
to go to the Lord and just talk to Him just like I would be talking to
another individual, and not always silently. I also learned about making
intercession which means to make a request of God on the behalf of others,
don’t always request things for yourself, because God is not selfish and I
should be either.
Thank God the Pastor and Saints of Florence.

Prayer Seminar Praise
Praise The Lord,
I greet you in the precious name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Thanking and praising Him for the blessing of allowing me to attend the
Prayer Seminar/Clinic on Saturday, April 15, 2006. This was a first for me
and I praise God for how I was truly blessed from the Sisters teaching and
sharing ways to help enhance my prayer life. I also enjoyed the
delightful meals.
I praise God for your leadership under Pastor Deas, along with his Women
Auxiliary president, Sister Betty Montgomery and Sister Gardenia Hamilton,
coordinator of the seminar. The fellowship with all the sisters was a great
blessing. I pray that God will continue to bless each of us to have a
victories prayer life.

He Filled my Soul
My name is Sister Yvonne Washington from Spotsylvania, Virginia giving
honor first to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to Pastor Deas and all the
Saints, Deacons, and all the members of the Progressive Church. I thank God
for my baptism in Jesus name, rising to walk in a new life. I thank Him that
when I heard his word, I didn't harden my heart. I Thank God for the many
many blessings he has showered me with from way back and up to the present
time. Glory to God! Most of all, I thank him for filling my soul with the
Holy Ghost on October 11, 2005. I'm asking all you Saints to pray for
me...that I may hold on to Him (Jesus) and be ready when he calls me to
glory.
He is a light on the High Seas
First of all I would like to give honor to God for being the head of my
life. I would like to thank God for allowing me to be a light to some people
that never thought twice about God. I thank God for giving me a mind to do
his will, and I pray that he gives me the strength to do what ever he asks
of me in this day and time. So please continue to pray for me and I will
continue to pray, that the Lord strengthen and keep each and every saint of
God, and that we continue to do his will. Amen

testimony to our Web Site several years ago. His original

Sharing Jesus in Spain
Praise the lord and the Saints! This is Mia McWhite. I want to thank and
praise God for the Saints that pray for me constantly. I am in Spain right
now, and because I am with so many international people, I am truly
realizing how many people don't know of the true and living GOD that we
serve. It pains me to know that there are those that have no idea where
their help comes from, but at the same time, I am comforted by the fact that
God has given me a mouth that I can use to witness to the people here. I
truly am thankful for this opportunity to tell others about the wonderful
name of Jesus. Keep praying for me, as I will for each and everyone of you.
I may be away, but I always know that PC is home.

Thankful in all Situations
My name is Damien L. Brooks. I would like to thank God in all of my
situations, choices, and obstacles I come across in my life. I would also
like to thank all prayers for me to be safe and to succeed in life. Thank
you once again and hope to see you soon.
Damien L. Brooks
He is a good God
Praise the Lord!
My name is Sis. Kia Douglas. First I would like to thank
God for life, health, and strength. I want to also thank
him for protecting me, keeping me in school and allowing
me to get an education.
I praise and thank him for food on the table, clothes
on my back and shelter. I just want to thank him for being
a good God.
Get in the word and stay there
Praise the Lord and saints of God everywhere. My name
is Sister Frerita Montgomery. I want to thank the
lord for being my keeper. God has been too good to
me because he brought me back to the light. I was tricked
by the ways of this deceitful world for 13 years. I thought
that's were I wanted to be, but thank God for the word of
God that was planted in me from a child in the womb.
I left GOD but he never left me; had he I would not be
here today. The Lord looked beyond my faults and saw
my needs. Just knowing how the devil had me and how
God rescued me is enough for me to have a continuous praise.
I want to thank God for having a true man of God, Elder
Jimmie Deas, as my pastor, for a spiritual and praying church
family and a blessed natural family. My motto now
is "What does it profit me to gain the world and lose my
soul". Young people, as well as old, remember that
the bible tells us plainly that the devil comes to steal,
kill and destroy. I won't take anything for my journey
now. Pray my strength in the Lord that I might be what he
wants me to be and do all that he asks of me.
Put God First
 Praise the Lord Saints,
My name is Lagarris Montgomery.
I would like to thank the Lord for my mind,
health and strength. I also want to thank
the Lord for putting food on my table, clothes
on my back, shoes on my feet and a good home
to live in. I thank the Lord for my family and
also my church family who cares for me. I thank
the Lord for being in the seventh grade and
all the saints encouraging me to do good in
school. I thank the Lord for my pastor
Elder Jimmie Deas. I hope and pray that one
day I will be able to walk across the stage
and graduate from school. As I close I
would like to say three words
"Put God First ."
Pray for me that I will be what God wants me
to be. Amen
There is no God like our God
 Praise the Lord,
My name is Bro. George Deas II from Greater Apostolic
Bethlehem Temple Church in Cincinnati Ohio - Bishop
Johnson is pastor. I want to thank and praise
God for what he has done for me down through the
years and I say that because there are many of us
who didn't have to live another year, and for the
times when I was sick and he delivered me. I
will tell you this " There is no God like our God"
and I say that because he is able to carry (take)
us through our trials, tribulations, etc.
I say that because if it had not been for the Lord
on our side, you take a look, find out and then
ask yourself "Where would I be without God?"
Before I go further, I will say to pastor Deas,
his family, and the rest of my relatives and the
members of Progressive, don't ever stop giving God
what he requires. Many of you may ask the question
"What does God require or want from me?"
He (God) requires all of our praise because the
bible tells us in Colossians 3:17 "Whatsoever ye
(you) do in word or deed do all in the name of Jesus,
then in St. Matt. 4:4 it says "Man shall not live
by bread alone but by every word that proceeds (Comes)
out of the mouth of God." Whatever you do,
do it all to the glory and magnification of God.
There are many people who believe there are
other God's in this world. I'm not
preaching, but I'm telling you what I know and
believe because there is no God like our God.
You may ask me what his name is and I answer
that his name is Jesus according to Hebrews
13:8. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday
and forever. You must believe what I'm
telling you because we have a big mission, to
tell folk about Christ, and acknowledging to
them that there is one God who is above all, and
through all, and that his name is still Jesus
May God Bless You

Prayer Changes Things
Praise the lord, for He's worthy to be praised! My name is Harry L. Harrison
Jr. I want to thank God for what He has done in my life and what He's going
to do. I have a testimony I want to share with you, to prove that God is
a mighty God!
This year I have been through so many tests and storms to test my faith.
I have seen things that I never thought I would see as a young man. On Friday
night September 27, 2002, my brother and I were in my car at a stop light,
when someone approached us for directions. From no where he jumped out of
his car and held a gun to my head. I want to thank God for bringing me and
my brother through that. Also at the first of the year God kept me through
a head on Collision.
I know it was through the prayers of the saints and God's mercy that
kept me. I still have marvelous works to do for my King Jesus. This is my
testimony that Prayer changes things.
He Keeps Me at College
Praise the Lord! My name is Mia McWhite, and I just want to thank and
praise God for keeping me while I am away at college. There are so many
different types of people when you leave home, and you have to remember
what you were taught or you will stray from the path. I thank God that I
have not. It is him, along with the Word, that is keeping me from day to
day. Please pray my strength in the Lord. In Jesus Name,
Mia
Loving The Life I'm Living ....
Praise the Lord for he is so WORTHY!!! I am Sis. Tasha Richardson.
God is moving a great deal in my life. He has brought me so far and I thank
Him for that. It is a blessing to have been raised in the church and to
be taught the truth. God is revealing so many things to me. HE is leading
me to new understanding about circumstances daily.
The Lord has taken me through so many things this past year. Through
these experiences, I have grown both spiritually and emotionally. It hasn't
always been easy but God has never put more on me than I can bare. I will
not turn back for anything in the world because what I have is more important
than anything in the world. Being saved is a blessing, but to be YOUNG AND
SAVED is a great thing!!!!!!!
A Blessing While At School
Praise the Lord and the Saints.
My name is Sierra Deas. I want to thank the Lord for delivering me on
the second day of school in August of 2001. A girl brought three kitchen
knives and a magnum 357 gun to my school. I just want to thank God for watching
over me and keeping me safe. All glory be to God. Please pray for my strength
in the Lord.

A Light Unto My Path
Praise the Lord!
My name is Shanda Mack. I would just like to thank and praise God from
whom all blessings flow. God has richly blessed me. I was saved at the age
of 10. I was baptized in Jesus' name and filled with the Holy Spirit. I
want to thank and praise God for being a friend like no other. He's always
been there for me and he never left my side. I thank God for his word because
it is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. Blessed be the name
of the Lord!
God Is Great
Praise the Lord.
My name is Bro. Keith Harrison. I want to thank God for saving me in
1993 at the age of 10 and blessing me to be raised in the church from a
babe. I thank the lord for really dealing with me since Sept. of 2000 when
we had our 41st church anniversary and confirming his Holy Spirit
in me. Also, in July of 2001 God richly blessed my soul at our Youth Revival
through the message of Elder Beard. I thank God for blessing me to graduate
from high school in June 2001. I would also like to thank God for blessing
me to be able to attend College this year without having to pay a dime out
of my pocket and blessing me to have scholarship money left over. The Lord
has proved himself to me so many times and I have no doubt in my mind that
God is real. God is great and greatly to be praised!
A Thursday Night like No Other
My name is Heyward Johnson Jr. and I am seventeen years old. I thank
God for being baptized in Jesus name and filled with the Holy Ghost in the
summer of 2001. I received my blessing one Thursday night at a revival at
Progressive Church of our Lord Jesus Christ in Florence, South Carolina.
I did not know that I was going to be saved and baptized that night, but
while the preacher preached the message I thought about Jesus. When the
message was almost done God led me to get up because I knew I could be saved.
As soon as I got to the altar I began to call on Jesus and before I knew
it I was speaking in another tongue as the spirit gave utterance. As I spoke
I could hear myself speaking in another tongue ,and had no control over
my speech and body. While I was standing there the spirit in me stopped
speaking in another tongue just in time for me to get baptized. I figured
that I should not leave church that night knowing that if I died I would
still be going to hell, so I got baptized in Jesus name.
I will be a senior when I go back to school this Fall. It is a great
feeling knowing that God saved me before going back to school. Please pray
for me as I walk with Christ. I am determined to put all of my trust in
Jesus. God is still saving Young People.
